Stories from the conference "Women Deliver 2026"
Welcome to The Narrative North Star — stories and signals for the future we are shaping. Each edition is a small invitation to pause, notice what is emerging, and turn insight into meaningful story. In this edition, I’m sharing a thought, a shift, or a tool to help you navigate storytelling, AI and human imagination with more clarity and heart.
From Women Deliver: where stories begin to move people and things
Hi Changemakers.
I’ve been letting the experience of Women Deliver 2026 settle…
and noticing what continues to unfold.
Because what stayed with me most weren’t the big stages or the polished panels. It was the in-between moments.
The quiet conversations.
The honesty.
The sentences that simply landed because they were true.
—
There was a shared awareness throughout the conference:
We are living in a time of deep global intensity.
Conflicts shaping daily life in places like Lebanon and Iran.
Families in Bangladesh navigating economic realities that are reshaping access to education.
And again and again, one truth became visible:
Women and girls are holding so much within these realities.
—
And alongside this…
there was a powerful sense of connection.
That moment when you meet someone and there is an immediate understanding.
A shared care.
A shared direction.
A reminder that this work lives within a wider field of people who are walking it together.
—
One insight kept weaving through many conversations:
Solidarity is powerful.
And this moment is inviting us into something even more expansive.
Into alignment.
Into shared movement.
Into collaboration across systems, institutions, and communities — with women, girls, and gender-diverse people truly at the centre.
—
There was also a deep sense of appreciation.
Because so much has already shifted.
From the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action to the International Conference on Population and Development, to the growing recognition of LGBTQ+ lives — there is meaningful progress to honour.
And feeling that creates momentum.
—
One of the closing threads was the Melbourne Declaration for Gender Equality.
A shared direction shaped by many voices.
An invitation into a future where change is carried through the relationship between people and the systems that shape their lives.
—
And as I’ve been sitting with all of this, something feels very close to my own work:
Change lives in stories.
In the ones we choose to share.
In the ones that allow us to recognise each other.
In the ones that turn experience into connection.
—
If you’d like to step into some of these moments, I’m sharing two pieces with you:
✨ A reflection on the in-between moments — the threads that carry the deeper story

✨ And a short video I loved creating:
the women, their earrings, and the stories they carry

There’s more unfolding from these days.
I’ll share as it continues to take shape.
Thank you for reading The Narrative North Star.
Until next time, may these stories and signals support you in seeing more clearly, creating more consciously, and shaping the future with intention.
With warmth,
Bettina
